Bristol Zoo Gardens
Open every day except Christmas Day from 9.00am.
New for summer 2006, Monkey Jungle, featuring ‘meet the lemurs’. This offers an immersive forest experience where monkeys mingle with gorillas and visitors enjoy close-up, walk through, encounters with lemurs. Senses will be filled with the sights, sounds and smells of the forest.
There is also the award winning 'Seal & Penguin Coasts' where you come face to face with seals and penguins through transparent underwater walkways. Discover other favorites including Twilight World with the baby aye-aye Kintana, Bug World, the Reptile House, Gorilla Island and the Zoo's impressive animal displays. From the smallest and rarest tortoise in the world, to the largest ape, there are over 400 exotic and endangered species to experience.
If this is all too much then why not simply enjoy the stunning gardens and grounds? As well as being a fun place to visit, Bristol Zoo Gardens is dedicated to conservation and is involved in international breeding programmes. Over the last 12 months Bristol Zoo has seen a number of significant births, one of our Western lowland gorilla's has given birth to a baby gorilla 'Namoki', and we have an extremely rare baby aye-aye called 'Kintana', and there are many more babies and toddlers running around the Zoo so bring your own and come and join us for a fun day out.
Don't forget to look out for our exciting programme of events in 2006.
